Product Selection Process

We select the products we review based on the Humble team evaluating the latest product releases and trends in the marketplace. We then head out to the stores that retail these products and view them in person to get a feel for the quality and see if the physical attributes are matching what the manufacturer has stated. The team then utilizes our internal Humble rating system to decide which are the "Top 3" we are going to be purchasing, and then the testing and independent field research begins.

We rate our products as "Top 3" placements as listed below. We only provide a Top 3 review, as unlike many sites out there, we are not trying to be a catchall catalogue for the manufacturers displaying everything as a "best of this, best of that" review. Rather we provide honest reviews of the best three products we assess in each category.

We remain 100% committed to staying ad-free for life. Unlike many other low quality hiking/outdoor websites, we choose to be ad-free and only show you what you came to see, great hiking gear reviews and advice for the trails. This means our site will never display banner ads on it, and we will always remain unbiased in our evaluations.

So how do we Make Money?

We are initially self funded. After all our independent research projects and impartial reviews are fully completed, we are eligible to receive affiliate commissions, at no extra cost to our readers. We may receive a small compensation when you click on the links to products that we feature, and you make a purchase.
